Rental of Le Rêve
1. General Conditions
The property and contents of Le Rêve is owned by Jenny and Ian Godson (registered Australian Business Number (ABN) 83 341 264 494) trading under the registered business name of Practically French.
Le Rêve is available for a usual weekly rental period during from a Friday to a Friday up to a stay of up to 4 weeks. Rental during winter months and shorter and longer stays may be possible by arrangement outside of main season.
Our local bi-lingual managers (fluent in French & English) representing us will contact guests prior to their arrival and arrange to meet and greet them at the house. They are also able to offer any assistance if required during your stay.
2. Health and Safety
Due to the property being typical of Uzès town houses in the 17th century, there are some aspects that make it unsuitable for certain categories of guests in relation to health and safety issues. There are several sets of stone stairs that require care and concentration particularly when carrying objects. For this reason we suggest that those with mobility problems, babies and children under 12 years are not suited to our house but we can suggest alternative accommodation.
3. Rental Conditions
The minimum rental period for Le Rêve is usually 1 week, from a Friday to a Friday in order for the guests to experience the large and vibrant Uzès Provençal market on Saturdays. This period can be extended with an additional surcharge per extra cleans and extra fresh linen provided through the period. Longer stays than 4 weeks should be discussed with the owner.
Check in time is 4pm on a Friday afternoon and checkout is 10am the following Friday.
4. Rental Price
The price of the weekly rental includes a clean on departure and undercover parking in a private secure garage if required €25 euros or equivalent per week and prices are advertised on our website. The total price will be confirmed in writing on our Reservation Request form after payment options have been decided. Bookings made within 3 months of your arrival require payment in full upfront.
We accept payment by:
• Electronic transfer to our Australian bank account
• Visa and MasterCard credit/debit cards or savings account using secure Pay Pal payment link
5. Deposit and Cancellation
For a booking to be confirmed, we require a deposit equal to 50% of the full rental amount Please note that this deposit is non-refundable if the client cancels 90 days or less before the confirmed date of rental.
If part or full payment has already been made and it is more than 3 months before the confirmed date, a refund of the amount paid is subject to the cancelled period being successfully re-booked minus fees charged by Paypal particularly when international currency is involved plus an administration fee.
6. Change of weeks booked
It is not possible to change a booked period for another without making a complete new booking. This requires paying a new deposit and final payment. However, if we are able to successfully re-book the original period that was cancelled, the amount already paid will be refunded minus a $AUD150 administration fee and any fees charged by Paypal.
For the above reasons, we strongly recommend that guests take out appropriate travel and medical insurance early in order to protect them against cancellations and other problems that can occur with overseas travel plans.
In the case of Practically French cancelling a reservation for any reason then the client will receive a 100% refund.
7. Credit Card Details and Security Deposit
We charge a security deposit of 500 euros in cash or as reversible amount on PayPal as a security deposit and we ask that you agree to allow us to deduct a charge for any damage, loss, theft, extra cleaning or unauthorised telephone calls in the unlikely event of needing to do this. Notification and full itemised details will be provided.
For bookings from Europe, a bank cheque for €500 euros or cash equivalent in this amount is required. In both cases this amount is to be given to our agent at the Meet and Greet on arrival and will be returned after a check of the property by the agents on the day of departure.
8. Telephone, Television, Internet and DVD /MP3 players
Our property has Broadband Internet access with both Wi-Fi and cable and satellite television with a large selection of both French and English channels and a computer with keyboard for receiving and sending emails etc. There is also a library of DVD’s in both English and French for use in both bedrooms.
We also have free international phone calls within Europe and to Australia but it is strictly between landlines.
Any charges relating to unauthorised mobile /cell phones, pay/chat lines or pay TV shows will be made against your security deposit and full details submitted to you.
9. Care of Property and Limited Liability
The client and any guests or visitors guarantee to undertake all reasonable care of the property and contents and to leave it the way that it was at the beginning of their stay. This includes ensuring that the front door is locked each time they leave the property by manually locking the door. No key is required and clients will receive the digital entry code on full payment.
They must inform the local manager as soon as possible in the event of any problem or incident during their stay. This includes problems with heating, cooling, plumbing, electricity, small appliances, television and Internet/computer, bicycle, but is not restricted to these items. In the situation where damage or loss occurs to either the property or contents due to the action of the client or any visitor or guest to the house and it is judged to be in excess of the expected normal wear and tear, the client is required to make good the cost of the repair of the damage or replacement of the item (s). Practically French is not in any way responsible nor to be held liable for theft, electricity blackouts, gas or water cuts linked to the public service or accidents, injuries, sickness, weather conditions, strikes or war and terrorist acts during the client’s stay.
Our liability is restricted to ensuring the handling of the amount of rental and any deposit is done safely and securely and that our property is presented at a very high standard for our clients to enjoy.
